While a large portion of February focuses on love, it often leaves many people spending so much time thinking about others that they forget to also think about themselves. It's a hard balance to strike- thinking about others and thinking about yourself. Most of my life has been spent putting others first. My mother and grandmother were my greatest examples of what being a selfless wife and mother looks like. I have spent fifteen years of marriage and twelve years of motherhood putting the needs of the loves of my life before my own, and likely always will. I would do anything for my family. In recent months, however, I have become acutely aware that my self-care has become non-existent, and that needs to change.

With my husband's encouragement, I've realized that I need to do things for myself, take time for myself, take care of myself. Why do you think the example of 'moms are told to put the oxygen mask on themselves first, and then on their children' in the event of a mid-air emergency? We can't take care of others if we're not first taking care of ourselves.

I chose to feature the gorgeous I Am Who I Am Goddess Double Sided Rosary necklace. While all of Katia Designs' pieces are truly beautiful, this particular piece of jewelry spoke to my soul, which, I think, is the mission of Katia Designs.

This beautiful double pearl strand necklace features lots of unique elements. The bronze finished pendant showcases a gorgeous goddess print on one side and the stamped 'I Am Who I Am' print on the other. I love the symbolism of the pendant. It's such a powerful reminder for me to be myself, unapologetically. Pearls are my favorite. They're so delicate and feminine. The gorgeous pearl heart reminds me to keep those I love close to my heart and to love myself. The lovely quartz crystal is a power symbol.

Paired the necklace with a simple white tee, and it looked fantastic. I received so many compliments on the necklace, too. It's been a while since I last wore a necklace that wasn't 'chewelry' for my baby. She definitely had her eyes (and hands) on this beauty, and the magnetic clasp made it possible for quick removal when she became a bit too rough with it.
