Does the child in your life complain about boredom during Christmas break? Family game night just got an upgrade with the Tikduck Flying Orb Ball. This Orb Ball acts like a drone and a boomerang at the same time! Meant for ages 6 up, this ball will provide at least a little bit of entertainment until your child moves on to the next activity.
The Tikduck design looks like a ball, but it has a propeller wing inside of it to help it move. Charging is easy with a cable cord. No batteries are needed as the device includes a built-in lithium battery. Just plug it into your laptop or into a wall brick for charging! Charging takes about 25 minutes.
It is built with a 3D angle that makes the ball easy to use, to see, and to learn! It is designed to propel in the air, to hover, and to return to you (when thrown correctly), but it can be used in a myriad of games as well! There is a fan blade that is activated when turned on. This is what will propel your device into the air.
Look for the "up" side of the ball. This is where you will locate the on/off switch as well as the charging port. Flick the on/off switch into the on position for play. Blue & Red LED lights will flash, so be aware if there are adverse reactions to these kinds of lights in your family.
Using your wrist, flick the ball, and its propeller will start up. Flick it again, and it will cease to move. It can also be activated by tapping the top. Continue to tap the top to change the LED light patterns. So far I've found four different patterns!
Instructions include a few fun ways to learn how to play with the Boomerang, but a lot of it is going to be trial by error.
I tried out some of the instructions for the following:
- Straight Line Boomerang: This one, you are supposed to toss the ball up and out at a 15-degree angle. It will return, but I couldn't get it to do so. I either threw it too hard or not at the correct ankle, because it would continue to go on, then fall to the ground. I'll need to work on that one!
- Magic Levitation: I did manage to make this one work. Try to keep the "up" side going, at least when starting. Keep the ball in the center of your hand, then gently release it, but hover your hands near the ball to help direct and guide it. If you move your hands too much, the ball's propeller will take over, and it will float on away, falling to the ground.
- Turn Flying: Definitely don't have this mastered yet. The orb should fly around wall corners when it's thrown straight to the left or right. It's going to take some learning!
- Flying Straight Down: well, this one is easy! Toss it out 15 degrees downwards and down it goes!
