Thanks Reduce Everyday for sending over this drinkware in exchange for a review. All thoughts are my own. |
How many drinkware containers travel with you throughout the day? The Travel Coffee Mug, The Water Bottle, The Protein/ Workout/ Energy Drink, the other type of caffeine (for me, that's coke zero).. and the list goes on. From grabbing a bottle of water to the Starbucks cup, we utilize a lot of drinking containers throughout our schedules.
What if there was a way to reduce our footprint and have a cup full of our favorite liquid that brings us courage? Reduce Drinkware does exactly that! From Travel Mugs to Water Bottles, Reduce Drinkware makes products that are sustainable, able to be on the go, helps us to be less thirsty and more hydrated, and supports various organizations and communities in need.
Reduce Everyday Drinkware provides products that are BPA Free, which a chemical that can be harmful when ingested. Everything we use has harmful chemicals, as that's just the nature of how products are created, so I appreciate companies that try to make their products as safe as possible for human consumption and use.
While most Reduce Drinkware items are dishwasher safe, handwashing is recommended to preserve the life and seals of your containers. Certain containers have gaskets and seals that can deteriorate in the dishwasher, so I do recommend following instructions. While it's easy to slip into the top or bottom rack, I've had many a travel mug and water bottle deteriorate because of improper washing.
I especially like Reduce Drinkware because of the Hot1. If it's a Hot1 product, that means both cold and hot liquids are good to go within it. Certain drinkware containers might only be suitable for one, and it can be annoying when I realize that the mug on my desk isn't good for the coffee, or to warm it up as the materials it's made of aren't microwave safe.
If you are an avid water drinker and want to make sure to get your ounces in, check out the 50 Ounce Cold1 Travel Tumbler with a Handle. The base is small enough that it should fit into your vehicle's cupholder, but the handle makes it easy to grab throughout the day (versus other water bottles that have little to no grip). A straw makes drinking on the go easy and accessible, plus it saves the ocean from a gazillion plastic items that mess up habitats, sea turtles, birds, and other marine life.
This particular item is dishwasher safe and is designed to keep your drinks cold. Now, I live in coastal North Carolina, so I'm always in doubt when a company says it can keep drinks cold, because NOTHING can keep a drink cold in 100+ temps! So I'll be intrigued to hear if this one really does (it's a gift, so I'm not testing it out first).
Cold1 Mugs are not designed to handle hot liquids. The steam from hot liquids can cause issues with the seals and destroy the way the mugs work to keep drinks cold.
Next up, try out the Hot1Mug that's 24 ounces large. This particular mug comes with a slidable closure on the seal. They call this "sip it your way", and I do like the different options for sipping and venting my hot liquids. The Slow, Medium, and Fast options control how the liquid comes out when sipping along with venting the drink container. The container keeps your liquids hot for up to 8 hours, depending on how well ventilated you allow your mug to be.
When completely closed, the claim is that the tumbler is spill proof (that means both the vent and the tab are closed, ensuring the seals work). As with any tumbler's lid, seals can break down after a while, but as the girl who does randomly spill bottles (or mugs, especially when the mug's seal is open), I'm hoping that this one holds up for a while.
For me, the handle is a super plus. I have a favorite Disney mug that has no handle and I have to say, its hard to open my office doors with no handles! I feel like a handle will help me keep a better grip on the mug when walking and doing things with my other hand.
Both are stainless steel, so I'd be wary about keeping liquid in the mugs all the time (especially on hot humid days) as we know that water mixed with steel often leads to... yep, rust. Stainless Steel is supposed to be resistant to corrosion, but chemical processes are chemical processes, right?
Customizable options are available for any occasion, along with regular colored mugs of all shapes and sizes. Tumblers for kids & adults plus even barware are available! I bet the barware would make perfect gifts for the pool or beach loving friend in your life!
