I planned a week off of work with the sole intention of doing nothing. Imagine my surprise when the poor weather helped me to do just that. I'm from New England but I am not a fan of being out in the snow. I don't play in it, stay outside in it, nor do I drive in it. Last Saturday was 60 degrees and come Tuesday we had over a foot of snow with more falling today. I've been snowed in by choice and it was the perfect staycation.
I got some reading in, scanned all the books in my library so I know which ones I have before I buy more duplicate copies, and I spent time with Chris. He's not on vacation this week, but I have to say separate vacation dates work for us. While we love being together, we understand the importance of being separate from each other in likes and wants. I'm a huge reader, he is not. He likes to go deep sea diving, I am not swimming with sharks... thanks but that's a no.
Once a year we each take a vacation alone. I tend to like being home to work on projects or just hanging with my dog and kitten. It gives me a peace of mind. It helps my body and mind relax. I don't have to make plans and for me that's so much more peaceful than planning vacations. Those stress me out with time limits, travel itinerary, and worry for my pets when I'm out.
Would you want to leave these pretty babies?
Do you vacation or staycation?
