It's the middle of the summer in the south. This means high heat, high humidity, and that AC is cranked down low so much that your windows are developing frost! Last week, I spent my time hanging out with teens in New Orleans, the mecca of southern heat and humidity. 

Our venues, the Convention Center and the Smoothie King Arena, were so cold that I felt like I needed long pants and a blanket. I didn't take it with me because we were out and about all day, so it would have been awkward to carry, but the Mozy is the perfect thing to use when it stays warm!

The Mozy is a wearable thermal blanket that wraps around your legs via a Velcro strip. The thermal blanket uses our own body heat as a convection source to keep us warm. There's no battery packs or electricity involved, just our own body heat! 

The Mozy is weatherproof. It's not waterproof, so don't go swimming in the pool with it, but one can sit on a wet surface, like a bleacher or pool chair, without getting wet internally. It's also great for blocking wind, which is perfect here on the coast because it's windy a lot at night! I could sit by the pool, down at the beach, or even at someone's sporting event in the fall and be comfortable. 

This blanket is adjustable because the Velcro strip allows for extra flexibility. It goes on at the waist and can be Velcroed down to the ankles. When it's completely closed, the heat stays trapped in, but if air or mobility is needed, you can open the Velcro to adjust to your needs and temp. 

Right now, Mozy has a couple of styles available for purchase. A Wearable Weatherproof and Outdoor wrap is available for the colder months and settings where you get cold easily.

I was sent the softshell lightweight wearable wrap. I think right now, this Mozy style is perfect! It's light enough that you won't suffer, but warm enough for the frigid AC. 

Worn at home, at the office, or anywhere you need extra warmth, the Mozy is made for 40℉ - 60℉ temps. 

The blanket can be folded up and then carried using the attached wrist-strap. It comes with two pockets that are great for keys, phones, drinks, snacks, etc. It also has the ability to host Velcro custom-made patches just for the Mozy from Minuteman Press. The butterfly and the tiger paw were both patches that were sent over with mine, but don't normally come with the wrap. 

Two sizes are available in the softshell: 400 (regular adults) & 600 (2X & 3X). My size is a regular adult size, but I might be slightly more comfortable in the larger mozy as it's kind of tight at my waist. It's not too bad, and it's still great and usable. 

You might be wondering why you should invest in the Mozy before football season descends upon us. My "must" is because it's meant to be hands-free. The Velcro keeps the wrap on you, it doesn't slide down, and you can carry your stuff around without a purse or bag when you are tailgating, at the fall cookout, etc. It's even great for those late night beach adventures when it's getting cool! 

The Mozy will stay in place better than a regular blanket. Regular blankets basically never wrap completely around you, allowing cold air to infiltrate and disrupt your warmth. The Mozy does stay in place.. to the point that when testing in my apartment, I actually got hot! 

While it's still too warm in Wilmington to wear this wrap outside, I could see myself keeping it in my office at church, where it does get cold regularly. I would certainly use it at events in the fall- cookouts, the beach, and sporting events. I would use it wherever I might take a blanket or wherever the AC is turned up super high!
