Suckerpunch Your Sandwiches & Drinks This Summer!

In case you weren't aware, it's extremely hot in North Carolina! Here on the coast, the heat often brings high humidity. This means that limited outside activity is often recommended, but sometimes there you just need to do what you got to do. Whether it's hitting up the volleyball court, walking the dog, or swimming in the pool/ocean, Suckerpunch is here for you.

Suckerpunch Gourmet provides amazing pickles, juices, and even margarita mixes so that cramps can be kept at bay and hydration stays up. All my adult life, I've heard that I should drink pickle juice when I have leg cramps, usually do to overextending my calf muscles or exercising too hard in the heat. I've often had a jar of pickles on hand before and have had sips of the jarred juice, but have never had a real pickle shot aimed at curbing my muscle cramps by providing much needed electrolytes to my body.

Suckerpunch Pickle Juice Shooters are a must if you are in active training or if you need to up your electrolyte game. I took a couple with me to New Orleans because I knew the heat and walking would do a number on my system. The Shooters come in 2 oz bottles that are absolutely perfect for TSA! Throw it into your quart sized bag of liquids and be on your way to a happier cramp free you.

I actually do like the taste too! The Spicy Pepper Pickle Shooters come in a package of 12, with 2 oz bottles to fuel your needs. The spicy pickle juice contains potassium, magnesium, and calcium to up your electrolytes and rehydrate your body. The shots contain no calories and 1 gram of sugar!

As far as the "spicy" level, it's not knock your socks off. It's enough to give you a peppery hot taste, but not enough to burn your lips or kick up your acid reflux. I find the taste perfect for when you need to down a pickle shot, but some may prefer the original dill pickle flavor that is also available.

Suckerpunch also has some great pickles to eat as toppings on your favorite foods, or just as a snack! No matter whether it's the jars or the snack packs, there are plenty of pickles for you to chose from. I was sent the Bold Burger and the Sweet Spiced Bread and Butter chips to test out.

The Bold Burger pickle is my favorite of the two. Using the best small cucumbers they can find, along with an 11 spice blend, these pickles are sliced and ready for consumption on or with your favorite sandwich! Bold Burger pickles are gluten-free, non GMO, vegan, and contain no HFCS. I found the pickle slices a mix of sweet and spicy, but they were thick and not your average dill pickle. I love the spice blend that makes these amazing on top of burgers and more!

Next up: The Sweet Spiced Bread & Butter Pickle. These sliced chips are so much better than your average dill pickle and they aren't loaded up with sugar either. Using the signature 11-spice blend, and the best cucumbers, these dill pickles are the perfect balance to curb your salty and sweet appetites. I don't find the blend too overpowering and can still taste that great pickle flavor!

Suckerpunch Pickles are made using the best locally sourced organic cucumbers in both their jars and snack packs. After picking, the pickles are placed in a juice using the Suckerpunch signature blend and other amazing items. Soaking it all up, the cucumbers are then turned into pickles, in small batches to ensure quality and freshness.

Of course, Suckerpunch just doesn't stop with pickles! Check out their mixes for a pickle tasting margarita or bloody Mary. I was sent the Spicy Jalapeño Margarita Mix. The instructions are super simple: combine the mix and tequila, mix, pour over ice, and drink. An added bonus is the last instructions of "If you want more steps, considering drinking your margarita on the stairs." I love how Suckerpunch obviously has humor in their branding too!

Ok, back to the margarita. I generally shy away from all things jalapeño, especially things that say "spicy" in front of that. So I was kind of concerned my taste buds would die a slow, painful death, but I can safely say that is a great margarita mix! I've always opted for the more sweet mixes and drinks (daiquiris and the like), but this is a prefect blend of spice and pickle juice! The juice adds this subtle flavor that connects the tartness of the pickle along with the sweetness of the rest of the mix.

My poor job of margarita salt on the rim added another flavor profile that brings out the pickle juice and jalapeños even more. I would certainly drink more of this and can't wait to share it with my friends! I haven't tried the bloody Mary mix, but I can see myself doing so in the future.

Suckerpunch pickles, pickle juice. and mixes are the perfect way to step up your cooking game too! Check out their blog for recipe ideas along with eating your pickles as snacks and sandwich toppings. Mixes and juice/ brine can also be used in sauces for a unique flavor profile too.

I think that Suckerpunch will certainly pack a punch in your school lunchbox, your evening picnic, or even your pool party with the girls! Pour it up, eat it up, and have yourself a great Suckerpunch pickle experience!
