A Fall Adventure at Kersey Valley Maize Adventures

Looking for a fun, festive fall adventure with your family? Consider Kersey Valley Maize Adventure! Despite nearly 30 years of life, I had never visited a pumpkin patch. I’ve always promised myself I would go, but somehow the years slipped by. As a first-time mom, it felt like the perfect time to turn that dream into reality. After researching local options, I decided on Maize Adventures.

Given the variety of activities and its proximity, it seemed like the ideal destination. My mom, two sisters, their families in the Raleigh area, my cousin and her family from Winston-Salem, and I, living in Lexington, planned a special day of family bonding. Remarkably, we all arrived at the parking lot within minutes of each other—a true feat for our family!

Tickets to Maize Adventures are $25 per person (children 3 and under are free), plus a $10 parking fee. While the price may be higher than other pumpkin patches, the extensive activities make it worth it! Upon entering, we were greeted by a charming “town area” lined with permanent shops and food stands. From fudge shops to laser tag and zip lining, there’s something for everyone.

Family fun going through the Corn Maze. There was a farm investigation game you could also choose to play!

Your ticket includes a train ride, corn maze, mini cow train ride for kids, kids zip line, super mega-slide, playground, giant jumping pillows, bungee trampolines, rock climbing, and more! There are also additional activities available for purchase, such as pumpkins from the patch, gem mining, and adult zip lining.

Mega-Slide Race!

Our family especially enjoyed the train ride, hay ride, and maze! The mega-slides were a hit with both adults and kids. We spent the day snacking on delicious treats, including amazing frozen lemonade and a shared mega snow cone. Honorable mentions go to the sweet kettle corn and hot apple cider donuts!

Delicious snow cone, pick your own flavors!

We spent about five hours at Kersey Valley but could have easily stayed longer. The pathways are paved and walkable, creating a welcoming atmosphere without feeling crowded. We chose a fairly large pumpkin to take home and prices were comparable to local stands averaging $6-$8 each! Kersey Valley hosts various events throughout the year, and I can confidently say we will be back!

My son loved the texture of this pumpkin, and only $8!

What’s your family’s favorite fall tradition?
