Halloween is here, and I have some very excited children at home. Halloween is one of those holidays that the kids love and look forward to all year. In fact, they start planning their Halloween costumes for the next Halloween as soon as Halloween is over.
We've made a lot of fun Halloween memories this year, including shopping for costumes, dressing in fun Halloween outfits, making Halloween treats, watching Halloween movies and shows, having our own Hocus Pocus movie night, and of course, we'll wrap October up tonight with Trick or Treating.
This will be the very first Halloween in all of my years as a mom, that I won't be able to go trick or treating with my babies. I have a rehearsal this evening, and while I am trying to be an adult about it, my mama heart is sad. My beautiful children also shared their colds with me and Sacha, so we'll be feeling a little less festive this Halloween.
Tomorrow, I'll be ready to take Halloween decorations down, and start adding a few things for Thanksgiving, while figuring out my Thanksgiving tablescapes. I have the pleasure of hosting Teamsgiving for my worship team the Thursday prior to Thanksgiving, and then hosting my family for Thanksgiving. November will be busy, but I am ready... you all know I love to host gatherings in my home!
Before November rolls in with its Christmas craze, I sit and remember the promise I made to my family... no Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving this year. I've decorated for Christmas before Thanksgiving for the past four years in a row, so it's going to take some serious willpower on my part to resist that urge. I'll just have my plan ready to go for non-stop decorating the day after Thanksgiving.
Let's enjoy this Halloween, though, if that's your thing. The rest will surely follow!
Wishing you a safe and happy All Hallow's Eve!
