Holiday Sun & Sand Made Easy With West Marine

In my Coastal North Carolina life, I am lucky that the holiday season is full of beautiful, wonderful weather. For the past few years, both Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays have been warm enough to head to the beach for some sand and sun during time off.

The fall is the perfect time for locals to hit the beach because the weather wind isn't bitter yet, but it's still often warm enough to enjoy some rays, even if you are wearing a sweater. To be honest, I hate coastal NC summers. Humidity, tourism, and parking nightmares make me avoid the beach fully.

This holiday season, I am excited to take my West Marine Chair out with me. This versatile chair will quickly become my go- to for all things outside.

West Marine Chairs are highly important for enjoying outdoor life! The West Marine Canopy Folding Chair is now my new favorite outdoor chair. It has so many features compared to my little small rusty beach chair that I've had for decades (quite literally, I think), and I'm glad for the upgrade.

Some of my favorite features are:

It's easily foldable. The canopy piece does swing, and I do wish there was a strap to help keep it together when traveling, but it's extremely lightweight compared to other larger chairs I've tested in stores. While larger and slightly heavier than my last beach chair, it's not unmanageable when carrying a bag and/ or drink.

Adjustable Canopy to help protect head (especially for those of us who don't really like umbrellas). It can also rest in the down position if you prefer the sun in all its glory.

Side Pocket & cupholder are great for phones, kindles, and drinks. The side pocket is mesh and isn't zippered, so you can't really put anything in for transport, same as cupholder, but they make it easier while sitting. I think having these helps eliminate sand on drinks and tech/ books.

225 LB weight capacity

High Back & 4 Adjustable positions. It does not lay flat, but you can lean back or be straight up. I've found that I hate laying back nowadays and prefer a straighter back, which I love on this chair.

High Seat! Around 17 inches from the ground, the high seat makes it easy to get in/ out of. Sorry for all you like to sit in the water people, this chair isn't for you!

600D Polyester with a color fastness of 4 means the chair is mildew and water-resistant, so that it easily dries and prevents mold from building up. The color fastness of 4 also means the color stays around longer and won't fade as fast as other materials. Be sure to wash your chair off after use because the alumni mum frame can still rust from salt and sand exposure.

The chair itself is about 36 inches long, so its the perfect size to fit into beach wagons, backs of vehicles, and the like. Easy to transport, easy to set up, and you need less stuff because it has a pocket and cupholder with it! It does not lay flat in my vehicle, but it still fits, so that's a plus! Most taller beach chairs are going to be longer, so check out dimensions if you are concerned.

I'm also excited to use this chair at other venues. While not "Live Nation" worthy (it's too tall for any outdoor concert venues around here), it's still great for local festivals outside Live Nation venues that might need a chair, camping or otherwise.

I'd even take it on "camping" trips- but I don't camp, so that probably won't be a while. It would be a chair I'd keep in my vehicle for ball games and the like, too. It's amazing how much having a chair is great for when you end up in unexpected places.

If the weather was nice enough, I might even grab it and sit outside as well. We have a great pool with some comfy outdoor chairs, but sometimes I just don't want to be around people and might want to sit on the lawn outside my door.
