Thanks to St. Pierre's for sending over these samples in exchange for a review. All thoughts are my own! |
Recently, I had a discussion about bread with my friends over the Thanksgiving season. We had normal white bread in our home for most sandwiches, toast, etc. Dinner rolls were often cheap white bread, but I loved a certain type found at local restaurants with English's fried chicken. Honestly, I haven't been able to find them in years!
As I've gotten older, I dived into the world of breads as I learned about European breads made with quality ingredients. St. Pierre's strives to bring a taste of French bread to American tables by providing us with tasty brioche style breads. Shipped frozen across the big blue, the bread is distributed by stores thawed and ready for consumption, with a shelf life date stamped on bags.
In case you are unaware, brioche bread is made with a higher fat content due to extra butter and eggs in the batter. The result is a lovely pillowy texture that is full of flavor and softness. This bread is great for the holiday season due to its richness and fullness, rather than normal yeast breads. While it could be for everyday consumption, it's "fuller" in carbs and sugars, so be careful with your dietary needs!
This holiday season, place the St. Pierre's Brioche Holiday Star as the main centerpiece on your table Christmas Eve or Morning. This textured treat is filled with sweet hints of vanilla cream combined with the brioche bread. Whether you utilize the star as is, or create a fabulous pastry with other ingredients, this star is not only filling but satisfying! It's texture combines the sweet flavors of the vanilla, eggs, and butter found in the bread to wow the stomach and tastebuds.
For a super special holiday, you can check out St. Pierre's website for additions and ideas. Chocolates, Nutella, Syrups, and jams might all make this a special treat! Or perhaps a bit of powdered sugar, pecans, and some buttercream frosting!
While you are finding your star, be sure to add other breads to your shopping list. Every holiday season needs a pretzel roll to stuff all the leftovers into! Turkey, Ham, and more will make amazing leftover sandwiches inside of St. Pierre's Pretzel Rolls. The package comes with 6 large rolls that could be split in half! Topped with sesame seeds, these rolls are my new favorite now.
If you need some other easy Christmas morning munchies, consider St. Pierre's Belgian waffles. These are not frozen (and it's not recommended to freeze any product because it arrived to the US frozen, so it's been thawed once already), but can still be warmed up following the package instructions.
I was sent some Cinnamon Belgian Waffles to test out, and I am waiting until Christmas week. I can't wait to try out this tasty Christmas Eggnog Waffle recipe! Belgian Waffles can be a snack or used in other meals (have you heard of chicken & waffles.. well create a waffle sandwich!)
St. Pierre's has other sweet & savory buns, rolls, pastries, and breads to get you through the holiday season! Whether it's the Brioche Star or a pretzel roll, St. Pierre's will liven up your holiday table and bring cheer to your menus and bellies!
