Behold, it went straight from winter to summer here in Wilmington. Now, I know that other parts of the state are still in spring weather gear, but here, I've seen the sunscreen and swimsuits pulled out, even at our own community pool.

If the thought of coming out of winter hibernation and throwing on a swimsuit makes you cringe because it means you need an "everything" shower, then check out Manspot

Manspot, known for providing men's personal grooming tools, has one particular item that all ladies might consider investing in: the Lady Spot.

Now, everyone has their opinions about hair "down there".  Natural, trimming, shaving, waxing, sugaring, long, short; there are a lot of options and ways to take care of our personal areas. It's also a taboo subject and something that we don't talk about that much!

Personally, I say do whatever makes you feel comfortable throughout the year. I have a tendency to trim during the summer, not only because of swimsuits, but because sweat and itchyness is just pure uncomfortable in 100+ weather. Our bodies are designed with hair for a reason, but fabrics, humidity, and heat all impact how we react to longer and shorter hair in personal areas.

The Ladyspot is designed to help create a painless experience for you to trim your body hair; especially the bikini area. Designed to prevent against irritation, nicks, and cuts; the trimmer can be used pretty much everywhere on your body: legs, underarms, bikini, and personal areas.

The Ladyspot electric trimmer is waterproof, so it can be used dry or in the shower.

Three guards (1.5, 3, and 3-6) help keep the length you desire but also prevent accidents on sensitive parts of your body.

Also coming with a charging cable designed to offer 20 days of protection, and a cleaning brush; the Ladyspot bikini trimmer can also be used without guards.

Now, it says that it offers a silky smooth finish, but it's a trimmer, not a razor, so I haven't experienced that yet. Maybe it takes practice. What I did notice is that this trimmer is very easy to use, especially if one hasn't used contraptions like this before.

Changing the guards out was very simple. They snap and remove very easily. The trimmer's blade does open so that the underside can be cleaned out, and it can also be replaced in time.

The Ladyspot also has a travel feature to prevent it from starting if pushed or thrown around. Press the power button for three seconds, until the light blinks three times. To release the travel lock, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds.

To use the trimmer,

  • Prep, skin in advance. Softening hair and reducing irritation can be done through baths, showers, and exfoliation. The last step will also help prevent ingrown hairs and make it easier for your hair to be lifted away from skin.
  • Follow direction of hair growth. The manual does provide some instructions about trimming and shaving areas, so check them out, but remember to follow the direction of hair growth, while keeping skin taught so that the ladyspot glides along successfully. Move slowly to prevent irritation and to accidentally cut yourself. While the Ladyspot is designed to prevent such things, harsh movements might cause accidental damage.

  • What I learned: The Ladyspot works well on my personal grooming areas to trim, but trying to get a buttery smooth feel on my legs did not work the first go- around. Since this is a trimmer, I rather felt a small stubble, but I also didn't follow instructions the first time to exfoliate in advance. Also, I need to move slow on my legs. It is not like shaving, where you can glide fast and easily using shaving cream. It is a slower method because you need the trimmer to be at a certain angle to have proper hair/razor contact.  I actually had better results with my underarms than my legs! Maybe with practice in time, it will feel smooth like shaving, but for now, its faster for me to shave with a razor.
  • Shaving cream is not needed. The directions don't mention this at all but because these are not designed as razors, proper shaving cream isn't recommended. I prefer using the Ladyspot in the shower to help rinse away hair, so I will continue to do my skincare routine (cleaning & exfoliation).
  • Remember after trimming care too! Finding the proper moisturizer for those sensitive areas of your body will help prevent ingrown hairs, irritation, and the like.

I love the available colors (pink, purple, white, and rose red) for this easy to hold and use trimmer. Even if you just trim to manage the area during swimsuit season, the Ladyspot will make your life easier! It's versatile in/ out the shower, which means a quick trim can be done before hitting the pool or the beach. No messy cremes, no nicks, and no razor burn!

This Mother's Day, skip the ingrown hairs & razor burn, and invest in the Ladyspot for easy ways to manage your body hair!
