My cell phone's lifespan is a miracle. While not intentional, my phone leads a rough life. It gets tossed into bags, slipped into sweater pockets, dropped from various heights and various furniture pieces, and even on occasion, kicked by my unsuspecting foot or the dog. 

Yet, it's somehow managed to stay intact because I have all the super-duper important protection surrounding it.  Screen protectors, cases, and the like help our phones have a longer lifespan so that we can do the important tasks for our families, and of course, scroll TikTok videos for hours even when we should be doing laundry.

After my other highly used case started to disintegrate, I was looking around for a newer option to cover my phone. My last case was bulky, and while this helped protect it, it also made it difficult to slip into the pockets of my pants or cardigan when roaming our church buildings. 

I knew I wanted a good case, but perhaps "lighter" than other options. I also knew I wanted some vibrant colors to help identify my phone in the midst of dark spaces (like the depths of the couch, or in my craft closet).

During the last three weeks, I've tested out two different options to help protect my Samsung Galaxy S22. It's an older phone, so it's getting difficult to find cases for it, but I was glad that Crave offers solutions for older model phones as well as the newer ones.

The Crave Dual Guard:

In bright red, this case is visible almost everywhere that I go. From my church's dark craft closet to my bedroom, this is a great option for those of you who wish for some extra protection. The dual guard layers contain a soft silicone and a harder outer shell. 

The silicone slips on easy, protecting the back of the case. The outer hard shell glides right on top, offering an indentation at the camera area, to help protect against random falls. 

The Dual Guard is offered in 9 colors, has a lifetime warranty, and offers easy access to buttons and ports. Unlike my past case, this one doesn't offer a "cover" at the charging port (which is used to prevent debris and water), but honestly, that broke so fast on my last case, that it probably wasn't worth it anyway.

The silicone base slides over your phone's buttons so that they should work simultaneously. I will admit, it took me a minute to get used to the feel of the buttons being pressed, as it was slightly more difficult to navigate than the last one (this is specifically for the power and volume controls), but I think the case was also stiff straight out the box.

This case is designed to offer shock absorption, helping to prevent your phone from breaking into a tiny gazillion pieces.  

The outer shell also has a textured back to help with grip. I'm a fan of grip rings/ holds, so I'll be investing in a new one of those, but the textured back has been enough to help hold onto it while dog walking, roaming around the office, and preparing for all things Holy Week. 

The Crave Slim Guard 

I then switched to the Crave Slim Guard in Aqua for a while. I have to say, that this is my favorite case of the two. The slimline design makes the phone feel lighter and smaller so that its easier to hold onto and slide into pockets. 

It doesn't feel as heavy in my jackets or sweaters on work days, and glides easily into pants pockets as well.

It offers the same protection and features as the dual guard: a raised edge around the cameras, button coverage, and shock absorption against falls, along with the lifetime warranty and heavy-duty protection with the hard back. wxs2

Same as the dual, it also does not over covers for the ports, but rather has sharp cutouts to help us keep those ports safe and clean.

Crave's USB Cables are necessary for your phone's life.

Now, every once in a while I get those error messages that say I must charge my phone with its original cable. But let's be real. That cable ghosted me years ago with it's frayed ends and incapable charging capability. 

I've gone through many a cable and I really like Crave's design. 

The Type C to C cable is perfect for so many of my needs! I have a multi-port plug in my living room, a charging brick with both regular USB-A and USB-C in my bedroom, and my office has various needs too. It's nice to be able to have a cable that I can use anywhere and not have to worry about which brick and port I need to have with me. 

If you need the standard USB-A, a lightning cable, or any other charging bricks/ ports, or even battery packs, then Crave will certainly meet your needs. My only complaint is that I wish they offered a cord longer than 3 ft. It barely reaches from my floor to my couch. That one is more suitable for locations when charging cable needs aren't quite as long.

So far, it's held up well to the movement and occasionally pulling as my dog interferes with electronics with his jumping.
